Popular with teens and the under-30 crowd, the Drop Dead clothing brand is one of the hipster crowd’s must-haves. Founded in 2005, the line has evolved from a few graphic t-shirts to a full fashion line including jackets, hoodies, swimsuits and skinny jeans.

Managing the Drop Dead brand is the sideline for Oliver Sykes, the lead singer for the band Bring Me The Horizon, who started the clothing company when he was a design student. Known for its awesome graphics, the brand gained momentum among young music fans, and has even been spotted on other bands such as A Day To Remember. The very first Drop Dead shirts were actually Sykes’ first tour merchandise products.

What makes the Drop Dead label special is the quality and intricacy of the graphics. Inspired by the “emo” style, Drop Dead adds depth and vibrant colors to its product line. Making a frequent appearance is their “kitty” logo and backgrounds that range from super-cute to horror-like.

Popular items in this product line include the oversized t-shirts for girls. A cross between a dress and a shirt, they are hipster staples with skinny jeans and Van’s sneakers. Guy’s shirts range from the ever-present kitty and monster motifs to bold letters and gory renditions. All are available in non-traditional colors including hot pink, purple and turquoise, as well as the traditional emo color, black.

Drop Dead is based in Stocksbridge, England, but ships worldwide, much to the delight of their dedicated American fan base. Among the pierced and tattooed crowd, a Drop Dead shirt is both a status symbol and a wardrobe staple.
